European Games places allocated at Antalya 2026
The European Outdoor Championships 2026 was also the primary qualifier for the archery competition at the 2027 Istanbul European Games.
Under the new World Archery rules, where athletes are ranked according to their final position rather than by the phase reached in eliminations, there is no longer a need for a separate qualification tournament.
The updated ranking system is designed to provide a clearer and fairer overall classification from the main championship itself, which can then be used directly as the qualification pathway for the Games.
There are 96 places for recurve and 32 for compound in Istanbul. 78 of the places have now been assigned based on finishing positions in Antalya. While the places were qualified by the performances of specific athletes, it is up to national federations to decide who they send to the European Games.
Nations can qualify either a full team (three spots) or an individual (one spot) in recurve men and women, and individual spots in compound men and women, with Türkiye automatically qualifying a full national quota of eight spots as host nation.
Nations who didn't qualify spots at this tournament will have another chance next year at the European Grand Prix event in March 2027, also to be held in Antalya.
