The 4th FITA World Coaching Seminar started yesterday in Rome Rome (ITA) - 4 November 2009     The 4th FITA World Archery Coaching Seminar started yesterday in Rome at the CONI Sport Centre Giulio Onesti. 85 attendees from all over the world have registered.  The Seminar started with a warm welcome from its Chairman Pascal Colmaire(FITA Development & Education Director), assisted by Trudy MEDWED (FITA Council Member), the FITA Coaches Committee, and Sante Spigarelli (FITARCO Vice-president and Chairman of the Technical Commission).   The presentations began with a much-appreciated "Historical review of archery in Italy" done by Nino Oddo (Member of the FITA Coaches Committee). Sante Spigarelli then presented the "Strategy and coordination of the FITARCO technical operations". Gigi Vella(FITARCO Technical Director) followed with the "FITARCO technical structure: description, evolution and operations". All the speeches were illustrated by explicative slides.    The afternoon session was more technically-oriented. First,Filippo Clini and Mateo Bisiani (FITARCO Coaches of the Men's and Women's Recurve National Team, respectively) described the "Training and athletes preparation at the FITARCO Technical Centre in Cantaloupe (Turin)". They provided useful training tips to the participants thanks to a deep insight into the work done at the Centre.    In the afternoon, the most famous active Italian archers gave interviews on the following subjects: Marco Galiazzo and “veteran” Ilario Di Buò on "international athletes' experience in the Centre and preparation for the major events"; Natalia Valeeva on "from the Eastern countries to Italy, experiences of an unmatchable career"; Sergio Pagni, currently seeded no. 1 in the compound world ranking, on "top-level international experiences shooting a compound bow".   The report and analyze of their respective experience were assessed as very valuable for the participants, who are all in charge of future champions.   The afternoon session concluded with a presentation of the Italian equipment manufacturer ARCO SPORT. After dinner, a friendly session introduced the FITA Coaches Committee and its activities to the audience.
