Federation of African Archery Championships a Success Ain Sokhna – 12 March 2010 The 8th Federation of African Archery Championships came to an end yesterday in Ain Sokhna and were a success.  In a successful end to the 8th FAA Championships, the organising committee of the Egyptian Federation put on an entertaining display of traditional dancing and culture, and presented all participants with a commemorative medal at the closing ceremony held last night.   With the number of new African continental records, of the nine gold medals, Egypt won five, South Africa took two and Libya and Namibia one each.   All the participating teams were presented a plaque to commemorate the event, dubbed by the participants as the most successful FAA Championships held to date.   According to Dr Aladin GABR, President of the Egyptian Federation, it was an honour to host the games and to see the standard of archery in Africa.    In presenting the commemorative medals and plaques, the president of the Federation of African Archery, Mr. Andrew OMALLA of Uganda, praised the Egyptian Federation for their efforts in hosting the event.   Nine African and six visiting countries participated in the championships.
