Two world records broken at Czech Target international para-archery tournament

The Czech Target international para-archery tournament was held by the Sports Club Nove Mesto nad Metuji, delegated by the Czech Sports Association of Physically Handicapped and the Czech Archery Association.

The Czech Target was a World Ranking Event and drew a strong field of world class para-archers in all categories. The tournament was the last major international competition prior to the London 2012 Paralympic Games, that will begin on 30 August and continue through to 5 September.

Two world records were broken in team events on Friday 13 July. The recurve men team of France composed of Alexandre LASVENES, Joël PERROT and Armando CABREIRA shot 220 points; three points more than previous world record held by Russia. On their way to winning the team gold medal, the Canadian archers Alec DENYS, Kevin EVANS, and Bob HUDSON set a new world record at 230 points in the compound open category. The previous record had been set a year ago by Korea and had been equalled by Italy.
