Michele Frangilli breaks two more 50+ world records at 60 metres

Frangilli world record

Italy’s Michele Frangilli has broken two recurve 50+ men’s world records, with a score of 681 in the 72-arrow 60-metre round and 1357 points in the 144-arrow 60-metre round.

Both marks, which are also Italian and European records in the masters category, remain subject to ratification.

The scores were shot at the Ferragosto a Montalcino tournament in Montalcino (Italy) on 15 August 2026.

Frangilli, one of the most decorated European archers of all time, had already broken the 72-arrow round record at the 2026 Freccia d’Argento tournament in June, with a score of 680, after turning 50 in April this year.

His 144-arrow mark of 1357 breaks another recently set record by the USA’s Justin Huish, who shot 1354 in June this year.

Frangilli also stated his intention to push the record further, adding “with a bit of training, I can do much more” – although he lamented the lack of opportunities to do so.

His next assignment is coaching the Italian men’s team at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, which begin on 21 August.
