Two finals for Korea and USA!
Legnica
All the qualified mixed teams entered the field on Wednesday afternoon for their elimination matches. There were two archers per team (one boy, one girl). Matches were played out of 16 arrows with cumulative scores. The top 16 teams from qualifications played from the 1/8 until the semifinal matches. The bronze and gold finals will be played later this week.
Recurve Junior Mixed Team
The No. 1 seed Korea suffered a lot in the semifinal match. The team of KIM/KIM tied at 148-148 with the No. 5 seed from Chinese Taipei CHEN/TAN. Then both teams scored 19 points in the shoot-off (each archer shot one arrow)! However, the closest arrow to the centre was shot by the Korean team and it opened the door to the gold final.
In the other semifinal, the No. 2 seed India played the No. 3 seed Netherlands. VAN DER VEN/WEGH took a commanding lead after the first two ends 37-35, 75-70 and did not let their place slip away. They beat DAS/KUMARI 151-148.
Recurve Cadet Mixed Team Seeded No. 4, Bulgaria was the surprising team of this competition. VLADEV/DANILOVA encountered a tough first round match against the Ukrainians KUTSYY/RODIONOVA. The match ended in a tie at 145-145 and the Bulgarians won 19-18 in the shoot-off. They went on to beat Mexico in the quarterfinal 147-146 before meeting Korea. The Koreans however did not give the Bulgarians a chance, winning 155-145.
The No. 6 India made it also to the semifinal where they played against the No. 7 Russia! India shot superbly at the beginning with a perfect end, to lead 40-35 and then 75-69. However the Russians fought back, they trailed 118-121 and then finally tied 146-146. In the shoot-off, TSYNGUEV/YANBARISOVA scored 19 points, beating the 17 points from SWANSI/NARZARY.

At the bottom half of the draw, the No. 6 seed South Africa had a good run. MARX/COETZEE first beat Ukraine 147-140 and then the No. 3 seed Italy 149-148.
