A spectacular showcase for Paralympic archery!
London
The Lord Mayor’s Show is the world's largest unrehearsed parade, an event dating back 800 years. This year it will involve 6,000 people, over a hundred floats, 200 horses and 22 coaches—and a tribute to Paralympic archery will be prominent in the spectacle.
"This is very exciting, and we’re all looking forward to a fabulous day," said Archery GB’s Paralympic Head Coach Tim HAZELL. "We are there at the invitation of The Worshipful Company of Fletchers, who have been very supportive of Paralympic archery in the UK, and it's a fantastic opportunity for us to promote Paralympic archery, and we really appreciate the invitation."
The theme of the float is "archery through the ages", with archers dressed up in medieval costume, with Victorian Ladies and Paralympic archers on the float or alongside. Kay LUCAS, Melissa CARTER, John CAVANAGH, Paul BROWNE, Pippa BRITTON, Jemma MORRIS and Lewis MARCH are among the archers who will be involved.
Said HAZELL: "It’s going to be a wonderful day for us all, and a great chance to showcase Paralympic archery, and next year’s Paralympic Games in London, too, to thousands of people from all over the country, and the world, who will be lining the streets."
The recently elected Lord Mayor of London is David WOOTTON, a Past Master of The Worshipful Company of Fletchers, and this will be his first appearance in public since his election last month.
