Team Gold Finals Antalya – 1 June 2007   Gold finals of the team event at Stage 3 of the Archery World Cup in Antalya, Turkey.   6:35 (local time) – The session is now over. Let’s meet again tomorrow, at 4:30 pm, same place, for the individual finals!   6:10 (local time) – Recurve Men NETHERLANDS – RUSSIAN FEDERATION Great day today for the Dutch archers who have reached the final in Recurve Men! Custers, Van Alten and Van der Hoff were helped by the Ukrainians who kicked the favourite team Korea out of the competition earlier this morning. They face Badenov, Sidorin and Tsyrempilov of Russia in this last gold final of the day.   The Russians open the match with 10-9-9 (28) and the Dutch follow with 7-8-9 (24). Next three arrows for Russia: 9-9-10 and a total of 56 points after the first end. Already an eight point lead for the archers from Eastern Europe, as Netherlands score another low series of 7-9-8 (48).   Better start for the Dutch in the second with a 10, followed by 9 and 10. The Russians with 9-9-9 leaving their opponents come back a bit to a six point difference (83-77). Netherlands with 8-8-9 and a temporary total of 102 points. Russia with 9-9-9 increasing their lead to eight points again.   The match goes on… with a low 7 point shot, but then a great 10 right in the centre, as well as a 9 for Netherlands. Russia with a strong 9-9-9 series. A nine point lead and a big smile for Tsyrempilov. The Dutch with 9-10-8 and a total of 155 after 18 arrows. Then, 9-8-9 for the Russian Federation team and an eight point lead with six arrows to go (163-155).  
Netherlands start their last end with 8-10-9 (182), while Russia goes on with 10-8-10 (191). A triple 9 to finish for Custers and team-mates and a total of 209. World Cup individual leader Tsyrempilov and his team have a great opportunity to add a team victory to their list of archery achievements. Ando they do, finishing the match with 9-7-9 and an great victory with a final score of 216! 
  5:50 (local time) – Recurve Women KOREA - ITALY Choi, Lee and Park representing Korea and Lionetti, Perosini and Valeeva for Italy. Shooting first on target no. 2 will be Italy. Valeeva starts with a 7, then 9 points for Perosini and 9 for Lionetti. 25 for the Italians. Choi takes the field for Korea with a 9. Lee goes on with another 9 and World Record holder (1405) Park shoots an 8. Total score: 26 points. Italy with 8-9-8 and a total of 50. The Koreans with a 9-7-9 series and a one point lead for them.   Unusually low scores for both teams. Difficult start for the recurve ladies! Italy shooting first: all arrows low on the target and 9-8-8 (75). Korea with an almost perfect 10-10-9 series and a temporary total of 80 points out of a possible 90. Italy with 8-9-9, followed by Korea with 10-8-9: six point lead for the Asian archers (107-101).   12 arrows to go now. Valeeva with an 8, team-mates with 6 and 8. Choi just out of the ten ring (9), and 9 also both for Lee and Park. 134-123 for Korea. Italy goes on with 10-9-9, whereas Korea shoot 10-8-10 and has an eleven point advantage over opponent (162-151).   Italy shooting first for the final six arrows: 9, 8 and 9 (177). Three arrows to go for Italy and six for Korea. The latter scores 9-10-9 (190). The Italian ladies with 10-8-9 and now it’s just up to Korea to win the match! It’s a 10 and the next arrow can already clinch the match… 9 and victory for Korea before the last arrow. Another 9 to finish and the Korean domination continues (218-204).     5:25 (local time) - Compound Men DENMARK - FRANCE Genet opens the match with a 9 for France. Beaud scores 8 and Brasseur 10 for a current total of 27 points. Denmark takes the field and shoots a triple 9. Tied score after three arrows in this match. France goes on with two 10s and an 8. Nielsen delivers a 9 for Denmark, his team-mates shoot another 9 and a 10. Tied score at 55!   France shoots first again in this end. 9-9-10 and 83 points for the French. Nielsen with a 9, Christensen with another 9 and Damsbo with a 10 for Denmark. The two teams are still tied: 83-83. Two 10s and a 9 for the French archers with the possibility for Denmark to take the lead in the middle of the match. But they continue with 9-8-10 and it is a two point lead for France!   It will be Denmark shooting first for the second half of the match. Perfect end for them with 10-10-10. France with 9-10-10 also. Nine arrows to go now! Denmark: 10-9-10 and a temporary total of 169. The French archers with a perfect 10-10-10 series. France leading 171-169. The level of this match is getting higher and higher as the end is approaching…   Last arrows of the match and Denmark is trailing by two points. They score 10-8-9, and the French shoot 10-10-10 again (!) Twelve 10s so far for France! They increase their advantage to five points. Denmark with 10-10-9 and a final score of 225 points. France has its fate in its hands… 9-10-10 and “médaille d’or” for France (230-225).      5:00 pm (local time) - Compound Women RUSSIA - USA USA opening with 28 points. Kazantseva shooting first and opening with a 9. Bolotova goes on with a 10 and is imitated by Goncharova. Van Natta shooting first in the US team. 9 points just out of the 10 ring. Another 9 for Fleury and a 9 also for Davies. 9-7-9 and the Russian Federation trails the American team by 1 point (55-54).   Second end: 9-9-9 for Russia and 10-7-9 for USA. Tied score after 9 arrows (81-81)! The Russians then shoot 9-8-9. Only one single 10 for Russia so far… This is unusual for them! Third 10 for the USA, followed by two 9s. Halfway USA leads by two points: 109-107. Russia will be shooting first in the next end.    10, 10, 9! Big improvement for the Russian girls. Dead centre (X10) for Van Natta! Fleury shoots a 9 and Davies adds a 10! One point lead for USA (138-137). Russia with another 10-10-9 series. 166 points after 18 arrows. USA with 9-9-8 and Russia takes the lead (165-164) with one end remaining…   USA now shooting first in the last end. Almost perfect end with 10-10-9. It is Russia’s turn: 27 points (10-9-8). The Americans shooting their last three arrows: 10-9-9 for a total score of 221 out of 240.
