Quotes of the day 4

Recurve Men
Romain Girouille (FRA) Romain Girouille (FRA)–Junior World Champion 2006 1. I kept my normal training the last few weeks but this means about 300-350 arrows a day during 5 hours. I train on all the distances. Moreover, I do running and physical fitness twice a week. We also had a national training camp for four days in order to tight up the group. 2. Reaching the 1/8 of finals would be good and hopefully an Olympic place. I am still young. 3. Im Dong Hyun (KOR), Simon Terry (GBR) and Magnus Petersson (SWE). 4. My 90m were not good, but then I shot personal bests at 70m, 50m and 30m. Finally I beat my personal best for a FITA Round by 4 points with 1332 points.   Laurence Godfrey (GBR)–4th place at the Athens Olympic 1. I trained every day during the last month in the rain and the wind in Great Britain. My shooting was not there at the beginning of the season and I put the efforts to come back at my best. I was shooting up to 300 arrows for five hours. 2. I want to keep shooting as well as today. The Olympic qualification should follow. 3. Great Britain will win some of them! 4. I am very happy! I had a great start at 90 meters, shooting ends of 57, 52, and later 55, 54. Then I was trying too hard at 70 meters and lost some points. I felt more relax at 50m and 30m. At the end of the day, I achieved personal bests at 90m, 50m, 30m and at the entire FITA Round. We most probably did a team National Record, too.   Magnus Petersson (SWE)–European Champion 2006 1. As you know I broke my bow at the last World Cup in Antalya, so I received a new one. I spent some time tuning it, but otherwise I didn’t change my training routine. 2. The qualification for the Olympic Games is my main goal, such as many other archers. Basically, I hope to win as many matches as possible. 3. Of course, I hope it will be me. The teams I consider to be very good are Italy, India, and Korea. 4. We were actually lucky with the weather, because most of the rains came at lunch break. I shot what I expected, except at 50 meters. I will relax tomorrow and I will get ready for the duals. It is also nice that we qualified the team on 15th place. Great Britain is a good draw for us.   Ryuichi Moriya (JAP)–silver medalist at the World Championships Madrid 2005 1. I started to train specially at the beginning of June, five days a week for one hour each. 2. I’d like to win a few rounds and maybe even reach the round of the 16th. 3. Russia is very good. They might take home a medal. 4. I didn’t do my best so far, I could do much better.
