Jimenez and Boe were tied again with only 3 arrows to go (85-85) but Jimenez made all the difference in the last end when he shot a perfect 30-point series to finish on 115. His opponent from Norway was just overshadowed and could only manage a 25 end to close the match with 110.     1/4 round: Hofer (SUI) - Brasseur (FRA)
The two archers started this match in very different positions: Brasseur, being in the quarterfinal, had already secure a place for the Grand Final in November. For his part, Hofer had to win this match to ensure one of the fourth qualifying place. After the first end, the two archers were tied at 28 points. However, the second series of 3 arrows was decisive for Hofer: shooting a triple 9, the Swiss lost all hope when his opponent scored a triple 10 to take a 3-point advantage. Hofer could not recover and finished the match behind on the score of 113-116. After last year, he will once again miss the World Cup Final by a hair's breadth! 1/4 final: Grimwood (GBR) - Mertens (BEL)
The local archer Grimwood, no. 10 seed, was facing no. 18 Mertens of Belgium. The Briton started with 27 points and his opponent shot 26. In the shoot-off Ericsson managed to score a 9, while Simpson shot an 8 only. 1/8 round: Hunt (GBR) - Willems (BEL)
The local Hunt and the Belgian Willems fought hard to decide on who would advance to the 1/4 final of this World Cup stage. They had the same score after 6 arrows with 57 each. Willems then dropped her guard a bit and scored an average 55-point end to finish with a 112 total. Her opponent took advantage of this and shot a 56, enough to take victory and continue in the competition.     1/4 final: Ericsson (SWE) - Flores (VEN)
First seed and favourite Ericsson proved too strong for the young Venezuelan. Flores trailed by 5 points (24-29) after the first 3 arrows. She lifted her level being evenly matched with Ericsson in the second: 29 points for both archers. However, the lead remained with Swede (58-53), who increased it to 8 points with a perfect third end (88-80). This was too much for the young Flores who finished the match 10 points behind Ericsson. 1/4 final: Davis (USA) - Goncharova (RUS)
The American gave the 2006 World Cup winner a hard time making the best start on 28 (Goncharova with 27). She then took a 2-point advantage at the half-way mark of the match 57-55. However, with a 7 in the third end, Davis left her Russian opponent an opportunity to recover. Goncharova needed no encouragement and tied the match at 84 with only 3 arrows left. She then finished with a triple 9 and a total of 111, which proved enough against the American's 9-6-9 (108).   1/4 final: Van Natta (USA) - Marcen (SLO)
Van Natta honoured her favourite status leading the match all the way from the beginning to qualify for the semi-finals of this World Cup last stage. The Slovenian Marcen went down with all hands at the end scoring a 10-8-8 last end to finish 6 points behind (107-113).   1/4 final: Anear (AUS) - Hunt (GBR)
The fourth quarterfinal was a all Anglo-Saxon match between Australia's Anear and Great Britain's Hunt. It was one of the tightest duel of the day in which the lead kept going from one to the other! The 22-year old local archer was ahead after 3 arrows with 25-24. Hunt then lost her advantage to the winner of last year's Australian Grand Prix: Anear led 51-50 half-way and she kept the advantage for a while (79-78 after 9 arrows). However, the promising Hunt made her move in the last end, and with 10-10-9, she overcame her opponent from Down Under by a point (107-106) to give the host country another reason to come and cheer up at the Duke of York Royal Military School venue on Sunday!
