Semi-Final: USA vs Indonesia
First match of the afternoon between USA and Indonesia. In the semi-finals each team shoots simultaneously. Team USA starts with 9-9-9-10-9-10 (56) and takes a 1-point lead over Indonesia with 9-9-9-9-10-9 (55). Led by 2007 World Indoor Champion and Outdoor Silver medallist Gellenthien, the Americans double their advantage and the score half-way through this match is 113-111. The archers from Indonesia Kuswantoro, Puruhito and Setijawan come back and take the lead before the last six arrows thanks to a great end of 10-10-10-9-10-9 (169). Their opponents Binger, Gellenthien and Wilde L. have 168 points now. Both teams start the last end with a 10 and a 9. Then Indonesia increases their lead to 2 points with a 9 versus an 8 for USA (197-195). Wilde and team-mates recover 1 point with a 10 versus a 9 (206-205). The Indonesians lose everithing when they shoot an 8 with their penultimate arrow and the Americans get a perfect 10: 215-214 in favour of Team USA. The last arrow is a 10 for both teams and it is a victory for USA (225-224)!
Semi-Final: Switzerland vs Great Britain
Switzerland takes an early lead in their second semi-final against the local team Great Britain (55-54). The Swiss Hotz gets two low arrows (7 and 6) in the second end and Switzerland loses its advantage. Thanks to Hofer who scores two 10s, however, they are only 2 points behind at the half-way mark (107-109). The British release 8-7-10-10-10-10 in this end. The two teams are very close indeed and Great Britain lets 1 point go shooting 56 with their following six arrows. Switzerland adds 57 points and are behind by only 1 point (164-165). Forbes starts the last end with a 9 and the Swiss Burri scores a 10 to tie the match (174-174). They both continue with another 10 (184-184). Then the second Briton Franklin shoots two perfect 10s and takes back the lead, as his Swiss opponent scores 9 and 8 (204-201). Nothing to do for Hofer who finishes with two strong arrows (10-10), but leaves victory to White and team-mates (10-10 as well). Final score: 224-221.
Bronze Final: Indonesia vs Switzerland
The medal matches are shot according to the alternate shooting system. It is team Switzerland who starts with Burri with a 10, Hotz with an 8 and Hofer with a 9. Their opponents from Indonesia, Kuswantoro, Puruhito and Setijawan, score 9-10-10 and take the lead (29-27). The second half of the first end gives rise to an upset for the Indonesians who get a red card (meaning they made a mistake and lose their highest arrow in this end), because they did not rotate. Thanks to this incident, the Swiss team takes a considerable advantage by 55-47. In the second end Indonesia scores five 9s and one 10, and loses three more points to Switzerland who shoot 9-10-9-10-10-10 (102-113). Hofer and team-mates add 58 points out of 60 in the third end, whereas the Indonesians score 57. The score is now 171-159 in favour of Switzerland. The Asian archers cannot recover from their 10-point lost arrow and they finish with a 214 total. The Swiss competitors clinch the bronze medal on the score of 227.
Gold Final: USA vs Great Britain
Two Anglo-Saxon teams are fighting for gold this afternoon in Compound Men! It is team USA that takes the line first, and Binger starts with a 10, Wilde L. with 8 and Gellenthien with 10 (28). Forbes then opens for Great Britain shooting 9, whereas his team-mates Franklin and White score 10 and 9, respectively. The Americans continue with 9-9-10 (56) and take a 1-point lead versus the British who score 7-10-10 and an intermediate total of 55. They double their advantage after 9 arrows: 84-82. Team GBR with a perfect 10-10-10 series and Team USA with 10-9-10! The local team recover 1 point is close with 112-113. Gellenthien and fellow countrymen take advantage of the third end to take a more comfortable advantage of 4 points after shooting five 10s and a 9. Despite six 10s in a row by Franklin, the British are behind by 168-172. The local team finishes with a 9-9-10-9-9-10 series and 224, but this is not enough to beat the no. 1 seeded Americans who close the match with 10-8-9-10-10-10 and 228 points out of a possible 240. USA wins gold and Great Britain takes silver!
Compound Women Semi-Final: Venezuela vs Great Britain
Venezuela takes an early, important lead with 8-9-10-10-10-9 (56) in the first end of this semi-final. The host team cannot do better than 7-8-10-9-9-8 (51) and trail by 5. Flores, Guedez and Montes increase their advantage at the half-way mark adding 54 points to their total, while their opponents score 52 (110-103). The gap increases to 10 points with six arrows to shoot: 165-155. Crang, Hunt and Parker finish the match with 8-8-10-10-9-8 and concede defeat to the Venezuelan girls who score 9-7-10-9-9-9. Final score: 218-208 in favour of Venezuela.
Semi-Final: Turkey vs Indonesia
The Turks Atici, Erenoglu and Kucukkayalar face team Indonesia composed of Handayani, Heliarti and Threesyyadinda. Turkey takes the lead after the first end scoring 52 points, whereas their opponents shoot 50. Atici and team-mates, however, lose their advantage in the second end: shooting 51 while the Indonesians score 54. They are now trailing by 1 (103-104). Things do not change in the third end and this semi-final's outcome remains uncertain. Both teams add 52 points to their total and the advantage stays with Indonesia by 1 point (156-155). Team Turkey cannot beat the pressure and they score only 46 points with their last six arrows (201). With a 206 total Indonesia clinches victory and will meet Venezuela for the gold medal. Turkey will shoot against Great Britain for the bronze.

Another medal match for the host nation, this time the bronze final in the Compound Women category! The British team - consisting of Crang, Hunt and Parker - shoot first on target no. 1. They start with 9-10-9 and 28 points. The Turkish - Atici, Erenoglu and Kucukkayalar - open with 8-8-9 and trail by 3 (25-28). They recover thanks to a 10-9-9 series and tie the match at 53. 8-9-8 for the British. The latter continue with a triple 9 (80), while their opponents shoot 7-6-10 (76). The young team of Turkey recover by in the following three arrows and is now trailing 102-105. The margin between the teams goes up again 4 points with six arrows remaining: 161-157 in favour of the local favourites. The Turkish girls now look resignated and they score 8-8-9 (182). The British continue with a triple 9 and increase their lead to 6 points (188). A burst of pride for Atici and team-mates who shoot 10-10-9 with their last three arrows and get a total of 211. The British team shoot 9-8-9 and victory on 214!
Gold Final: Venezuela vs Indonesia
Seeded no. 1 Venezuela is faces no. 2 seed Indonesia in the last match of this year's World Cup Stage 4. The first three arrows of Flores, Guedez and Montes score 8-10-10 (28). The Indonesians also shoot a 28-point series (10-8-10) at this point. Handayani, Heliarti and Threesyadinda continue with 8-9-9 and trail by 2 after the first end (54). Venezuela with 9-9-10 and 56 points so far. Flores and team-mates keep going and with 9-10-9-8-9-9 they double their advantage at the half-way mark after the Asian archers shoot 9-10-9-8-7-9: 111-106. A great example of sportsmanship in the third end with the Indonesian coach telling the first Venezuelian archer to wait before passing the waiting line - it was Indonesia's turn to shoot - thus stopping them from receiving a yellow card from the Judge. In this end Venezuela keeps its 5-point advantage and the score with only six arrows to go is 166-161. Five 9s and a 10 for the Venezuelan girls in the last end are enough to achieve the gold medal. Final score: 221-216.
