Men's Team: Korea grasps for Gold, Gold, Gold

Korea hopes to win their third gold medal in as many Olympics in the men's team competition at the Olympic Green Archery Field on Monday 11 August.
Favourites
Ø Korea finished the ranking round in first place with IM Dong-Hyun, LEE Chang-Hwan and PARK Kyung-Mo shooting a combined score of 2,015.
Ø IM and PARK were members of the Korean team that won gold at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
Ø Korea has won three of the five gold medals that have been contested since the team competition was introduced at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games.
Ø All three of Korea's archers were top 10 finishers in the ranking round.
Ø Korea is seeded straight into the quarterfinals where they will face the winner of the match between Australia and Poland.
Challengers
Ø Ukraine is expected to make it through to the semi-finals and will be led by Viktor RUBAN, who finished third individually in the ranking round. Ukraine’s team is the bronze medallist from the Athens Games.
Ø Malaysia is in a good position to win their first Olympic medal after a third place in the ranking round. Wan KHALMIZAM (MAS) is expected to aid the Malaysian team because he finished fifth individually in the ranking round.
Ø Balijinima TSYREMPILOV (RUS) should play a major role in the Russian Federation's ability to win a medal. TSYREMPILOV finished sixth in the ranking round and brings good international experience to the team as the 2007 World Cup individual winner.
Others
Ø Great Britain will look to make a mark in the team elimination rounds and Simon TERRY (GBR) to win his second Olympic team medal, having enjoyed bronze at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games.
Ø Italy, Chinese Taipei and the United States of America round out the top men's teams in contention for a medal. The USA had a disappointing ranking round but will still seek a place on the podium as they missed out on a bronze medal in the Athens Games by only two points.
