Notice: Nominations open for four positions on the athlete committee
Nominations are now being accepted for three representatives on the World Archery’s athletes committee.
This year, one compound man, one compound woman and one para archer will be elected by their fellow athletes to serve a four-year term until 2029.
The election will take place during the Hyundai World Archery Championships and World Archery Para Championships in Gwangju, Korea in September 2025.
To be eligible, candidates must have competed in an international-level event within the last four years. Ideal nominees are passionate about athlete representation, willing to advocate for their peers and committed to actively engaging with World Archery to shape the future of the sport.
Member associations in good standing are encouraged to submit nominations via the online form by 1 July 2025. Forms must be submitted electronically.
The athletes’ committee plays a vital role in representing the voice of athletes within World Archery’s governance. It provides input on rules, policies and key initiatives.
Historically, the committee has included five members: one recurve man, one recurve woman, one compound man, one compound woman and one field archer. This year, the committee will expand to include one para archer (and potentially one youth representative), increasing the total number of members to six (or seven) – pending approval of the proposed change at Congress.
The chair and deputy chair of the committee are appointed by the president of World Archery.
