Nominations open for 2025 gender equity and inclusion awards

In celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, World Archery officially opens nominations for its gender equity and inclusion awards on 8 March.
The honour recognises individuals, regardless of gender, who have made a significant impact in advancing equal opportunities or driving meaningful change towards equality within the sport of archery.
First awarded in 2009 as the Women’s Award, the Gender Equity and Inclusion Award was relaunched under its new name two year ago. It is now presented at each World Archery Congress, with this year’s edition taking place in Gwangju, Korea, in September.
In 2023, five personalities received the honour, including former international judge Irena Rosa, whose long and remarkable contribution to the sport earned her Slovenia’s highest lifetime achievement award last February.
In addition, a new Equal Opportunities Award will debut in 2025, presented every four years at the World Archery Congress following the Olympic Games. It recognises federations for significant progress in promoting gender equity and inclusion, either by increasing participation or challenging gender-based prejudice.
Eligible nominators include World Archery national federations, continental associations, executive board members and gender equity and inclusion committee members. Submissions can be made through the online form until 4 July.
The gender equity and inclusion committee will review all nominations and recognise awardees during the 2025 World Archery Congress. Multiple awards may be presented.
